Drake and Chris Brown Hit With ‘No Guidance’ Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Chris Brown and Drake are being accused of stealing “No Guidance.”

According to TMZ, Brandon Cooper and Timothy Valentine — Mr. Cooper and Drum’n Skillz, say the pair stole their track “I Love Your Dress” and made it into “No Guidance.” 

“I Love Your Dress” was released three years before Drizzy and Breezy’s single. The duo are suing the two artists for copyright infringement.

The lawsuit says “I Love Your Dress” has the lyrics, “She got it, she got it” 16 times, with “No Guidance” declaring “You got it, girl, you got it” at least 11 times. He says the pair also mocked them with the “Flew the coop” line.

“No Guidance” reached no. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The single was nominated for Best R&B Song at the 2020 Grammy Awards and receieved 693 million streams on Spotify. The music video also received over 373 million views on YouTube. Chris and Drake are yet to respond to the lawsuit.
