Young Dolph Alleged Killer Appears In Court For Violation Of Sex Offender Registration

One of the men accused of killing Young Dolph was in court on Monday. 

Justin Johnson was in court for his violation of the sex offender registration charge.

According to WLBT, in 2015, Johnson was convicted of aggravated rape. He is required to report every March, June, September and December to the Memphis Police department. He did not report to MPD in December 2021 and is in violation of the sex offender tracking and verification act of 2004.

Johnson claimed in court that “He doesn’t have any money for a lawyer.”

The judge said he would appoint a public defender for the violation charge. Johnson still does not have a lawyer to fight his murder charge.

Johnson, Cornelius Smith and Shundale Barnett have all been charged with the Nov. 17 shooting death Young Dolph.

Johnson is facing individual charges of first-degree murder, criminal attempted first-degree murder, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, employ of a firearm with intent to commit a felony and theft of property $10,000-$60,000, records show.
