This weekend was the annual BET Hip Hop Awards show in Atlanta, and some of the biggest artists in the world attended. MTO News confirmed however that one artist – Summer Walker – did not attend because she was banned from the show.
Summer was banned because she refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine. According to MTO News’ sources, while Summer had not been vaccinated she had tested negative for Covid on the day of the show – but that wasn’t good enough for the African American music network.
The singer/songwriter was banned from the BET Hip Hop Awards over the weekend, for not being vaccinated and for her public stance on it. Summer Walker has publicly offered reservations about the safety of the Covid vaccines. According to the CDC, the latest scientific research suggests that the vaccines are safe and effective against the deadly disease.
But Summer showed up anyway and announced that her sophomore album would be released next month…
After sharing a message that BET was on that “BS” Summer showed up to the event and projected her album announcement on the wall outside the venue.
