Soulja Boy has signed rapper Skinnyfromthe9 to his label.
“Yo @souljaboy you really my brother 4 life ima make you proud thank you for the opportunity,” the rapper captioned his Instagram post.
Last year, Skinnyfromthe9 went viral after being robbed in New Jersey.
According to social media reports, the rapper was confronted by a group of goons – who beat and robbed him. They stole his money, credit cards, and his chain which is valued at $50,000.
He’s been robbed before.
In August 2018, Skinnyfromthe9 his father, brother, and a fourth defendant were arrested and charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault in relation to an incident in Somerset County, New Jersey in which the four men were accused of luring another man into a vehicle and beating him.
Skinnyfromthe9 first gained widespread attention after the release of his song “Love Blast” in late 2017. He then signed to L.A. Reid’s record label, HITCO, in 2018. He released his debut mixtape, It’s An Evil World, in November 2018.
