A PlayStation executive has been fired by Sony after allegedly being exposed as a pedophile.
George Cacioppo, a senior vice president of engineering for Sony who worked on the PlayStation Store, was caught on camera by the YouTube channel People v. Preds allegedly arranging to meet an individual he believed was a 15-year-old boy for sex.
“We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment,” Sony said in a statement emailed to CNET.
In the video, a cameraman walks toward a house where Cacioppo is standing outside. Cacioppo is wearing a PlayStation T-shirt. The man behind the camera then accuses the former Sony exec, whom he calls “Jeff,” of arranging to meet a 15-year-old boy for sex. Cacioppo used the fake name for his Grindr page.
Cacioppo can be seen entering his home and closing the door.
He has not responded to the amateur sting or released a statement about his termination.
