Rapper Polo G’s childhood friend Brian “B Money” was shot and killed yesterday, by gang members who are calling themselves his “opps.”

But Brian was no longer in the street life. MTO News confirmed that Brian and Polo G left street life behind to focus on making music. In fact, the two best friends moved to Los Angeles – where they could be away from the dangerous Chicago streets.
They were focusing on music and starting businesses – and it seemed like both young men were destined for greatness.

Yesterday however Brian returned to Chicago to attend a “sneaker ball” with a friend. Unfortunately he was ambushed by people calling themselves the “opps” and executed.
Here’s a social media post, from one of Brian’s high school teachers:

Polo G is a rapper, originally from Chicago. In 2018, he rose to prominence with the singles “Finer Things”[1] and “Pop Out” (featuring Lil Tjay). In 2019, he released his debut album Die a Legend, which received generally positive reviews and peaked at number six on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.[2]
Bartlett’s second studio album, The Goat (2020), peaked at number two on the Billboard 200[3] and charted ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[4] In 2021, he released the single “Rapstar”, which debuted at number one on the Hot 100[5] and became his first number one hit on the Hot 100 and first solo top-ten single.[6] The song served as the lead single for his third studio album Hall of Fame (2021), which became Bartlett’s first chart topping album.
