Detroit rapper Big Homie has been arrested after he flaunted guns connected to seven shootings on his Instagram page.
According to Detroit News, the rapper is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Federal prosecutors say he held a machine gun and other guns during the Instagram video. Big Homie flashed a Glock pistol outfitted with a device that turned the semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic machine gun.
The Feds raided his home and after running ballistic's test, they were able to connect the machine gun to the shootings,
His attorney released the following statement.
"A lot of these young rap artists with social media today find themselves involving using guns in videos," Steven Scharg said. "That does not necessarily mean they're thugs or believe in assaults. It's just part of the façade of the rap industry."
Big Homie is being held without bond and is facing up to 10 years in federal prison.
