NYC Mayor Eric Adams has tested positive for Covid-19.
“At this time, the mayor has no other symptoms, but he is already isolating and will be canceling all public events for the remainder of the week,” said his press secretary Fabien Levy in a statement per Politico. “He will continue to serve New Yorkers by working remotely.”

Adams attended several events over the past week without a mask.
“This is New York City’s Fifth Wave. Incredible that we’ve been through five so far. Cases have tripled in the last month. Hospitalizations are ticking up although still very low,” Mark Levine, Manhattan Borough President told ABC7. “So, it is still a time for caution. Not a time to shut down the city. Not a time for everyone to be barricaded in their apartment, but a time for caution.”
Adams reportedly has diabetes so is at risk of complications. He has not posted about the positive COVID test on his social media however.
