Robert Maraj, the father of rap star Nicki Minaj, has been killed after being struck by a hit and run driver.
Mr. Maraj was walking in Mineola, N.Y. on Friday when he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene, the Nassau County Police Department said in a statement. He was then rushed to a hospital in critical condition, the police said before he was pronounced dead by a hospital doctor the following day.
What happened? Well some members of Nicki’s family suspect that his death wasn’t an accident. In fact one family member suspects that Nicki’s dad may have been murdered.
Nicki’s family member told MTO News, “They need to find the killer. I think this was done on purpose.”

Nicki is yet to speak publicly on the death of her father.
Homicide detectives are investigating the crash and asking anyone who saw the collision at the intersection of Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue to come forward with any information. Nicki is very close with her mother, but reportedly was not as close with her father.
Nicki has been keeping a fairly low profile after becoming a mother four months ago.
