Unvaccinated NFL players could now be fined $14,650 for violating COVID-19 rules.
This comes after Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said he would fine his players “$14,000 on the spot every time he isn’t wearing a mask or is breaking a protocol.”
Arians told ESPN it wasn’t his own policy but “league rules” in a text and this was confirmed to ESPN.
Unvaccinated individuals — including players — also will be prohibited from gathering outside of the club facility or team travel, per the memo. This includes gathering for meetings, practices or training activities unless approved by the NFL and NFLPA.

The fine news comes two days after the NFL announced it would enforce forfeits in the event of a COVID-19 cancellation.
“The NFL and NFLPA have agreed to updated COVID-19 protocols for 2021 training camp and preseason,” a reporter says they were informed by a source. “How different will life by for vaccinated and unvaccinated players? From the memo that just went to clubs.”
The Covid-19 numbers have been getting higher due to the recent Delta variant. People who have refused to take the vaccine have been blamed for the rise.
