There's a brewing storm at MSNBC, MTO News has learned. Inside sources are claiming that the network plans on firing Joy Reid from her primetime show.
Word on the curb is that Joy Reid's ratings are horrible, and that MSNBC is now firing her because of it.
Here's the receipt, from Jon Nicolla, a well known media executive who used to run Mediaite. Notice how he has a blue check next to his Twitter handle:
But there's a lot more to the story. MTO News did a bit of digging, and learned that Joy's show - which airs at 7:00 ET - has the SMALLEST BUDGET of any other Primetime shows.
But Chris claims that there are other reasons that Joy is getting fired - namely her attitude!!
Here's what he wrote:
As was the case with Chris Cuomo at CNN, Reid has allies at Comcast, however, she is now viewed as "unmanageable" by many. Also, similar to Cuomo, it appears those allies have found out she has been "less than truthful about past incidents" 2/ (more to come).
Keyshia Kaoir Gets A Million
With Joy getting the boot, the only Black person in the MSNBC weekday schedule is Craig Melvin, who has a show that airs at 11:00.
One insider told MTO News, "Joy gets the smallest budget, yet they expect the highest ratings from her."
