Kanye West’s camp have shut down reports that the rapper is flying to Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin.
“Entirely fabricated. Work of fiction or wishful thinking from these Russian people,” Pierre Rougier, a representative for West, told Rolling Stone.
West’s associate Ameer Sudan had previously told Billboard that Ye wanted to make the country “a second home.” “He will be spending a lot of time out there,” Sudan said.
Sudan had claimed that Ye is setting up a Sunday Service in Russia later this year and that Putin will be a special guest at the performance.
“Kanye knows what’s going on more than the average human being, he’s well aware of things,” Sudan reportedly said. “And it’s nothing against the United States or to cause conflicts, but Ye is Ye — he can’t be controlled.”
Putin is rumored to be close friends with former President Donald Trump, who is also friends with the rapper.
