Kanye West has filed documents to legally change his name to ‘Ye.’
The documents were filed earlier this month but not entered into the court system until Tuesday. They cite “personal reasons” for the change.
In 2018, he posted a tweet saying, “the being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.”
This is the same week it was announced that Ye and his girlfriend Irina Shayk reportedly split.

“It was never a serious thing that took off,” a source told People, while another source added, “He doesn’t have time to date right now. He finds Irina amazing though. They remain friendly.”
Another source told Us Weekly, “Kanye and Irina are over, but they never really started, there’s nothing going on there.”
The couple reportedly started dating in June. A source told E!: “Kanye and Irina connected recently when they were both in New York City. They met up one night and had chemistry and hit it off. It’s very casual and they have only been in touch for about a month. Kanye has expressed he doesn’t want anything serious, but likes Irina’s vibe.”
