Jussie Smollett’s attorney has filed a lawsuit for defamation against the Osundairo brothers.
Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo testified against Jussie in the trial, alleging that he paid them to attack him while pretending to be MAGA supporters.
“They fabricated statements out of thin air and falsely attributed them to Mr. Geragos,” the legal documents obtained by Rolling Stone reads. “In actuality, and as the transcript of the podcast reveals, Mr. Geragos never said anything remotely similar to what the complaint alleged […] Since the time the fraudulent lawsuit was filed, [Geragos and his firm] have wasted considerable time, effort, and resources to defend themselves, and to mitigate the damage to their reputation that flowed from defendants’ reckless and malicious actions.”
Jussie was sentenced to five months in jail for staging the attack. He was recently let out while his appeal plays out. The star says she did not stage the attack and that he’s being targeted because he’s Black and gay.
