Jussie Smollett Moved Out Of Psych Ward & Into Another Cell

Jussie Smollett has been moved out of a psych ward and into another cell.

His brother Jocqui Smollett shared the news.

“So I just got to see him,’ he said. ‘Thank you so much for the support, all the hashtag #FreeJussie, it’s working. He’s now been moved to a new jail cell out of the psych ward that has a bed,” he said.

“Before he was sleeping on a restrained bed and now he’s been moved to a jail cell that actually has a bed, so thank you so much. That’s really because of all the #FreeJussie that’s been going on. It’s all the pressure we’re applying on Cook County and Cook County Jail.”

Jussie was also given 30 months of felony probation. The actor yelled, “I am innocent. I could have said I was guilty a long time ago,” as sheriffs walked him out of the courtroom.

Jussie was found guilty on five counts of disorderly conduct — for each separate time he was charged with lying to police in the days immediately after the alleged attack. The actor was acquitted on a sixth count, of lying to a detective in mid-February.

Jussie must also pay Chicago $120,000 in restitution and a $25,000 fine.
