Instagram star Jayda Chaves was arrested, after authorities in Jamaica caught her smuggling multiple guns onto the island. Now MTO News has confirmed that she’s been freed and released.

Jayda Cheaves and her security guard Gregory Wright were fined about $15,000 US after they pleaded guilty on gun-related charges in the Western Regional Gun Court in Montego Bay, St James on Wednesday.

Jayda, 24, and Wright, also 24, were arrested and called before the court to answer to charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, following their arrest on Monday, at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
Jayda and her crew were trying to board a private jet to leave the island when two 9mm pistols and 15 rounds of ammunition were found in their luggage, MTO News confirmed. Following the reveal, Jayda and the others with her were charged and taken into custody.
They reportedly made guilty pleas on Wednesday, and were each ordered to pay fines of $500,000 (Jamaican money) or 12 months of imprisonment on the firearm charges, and $300,000 or 12 months of imprisonment for the ammunition charges.
Our guess is she opted to pay the fines.
