During a recap of the Mavericks’ 115-110 win over the Lakers, Charles Barkley made the following remarks about women in Georgia: “Georgia the only school in the world that they named their mascot after the women down there,” he said.
“So totally uncalled for,” his cohost Ernie Johnson added, “Not even gonna dignify that with a response.”

Several years back, he made equally offensive comments about the women of San Antonio.
“Some big ol’ women down there [in San Antonio] … that’s a gold mine for Weight Watchers,” Barkley said in 2014. He added: “Victoria is definitely a secret [in San Antonio] … they can’t wear no Victoria’s Secret down there… They wear bloomers down there … ain’t nothing skimpy down there.”
BASKETBALL COACH MAKES BIZARRE STATEMENT
Viewers reacted by asking whether Barkley had looked in a mirror lately.
One commentor wrote, “Just one further note: mostly men, mostly white that are supporting his comments. Don’t want to cancel, just don’t be so demeaning about only women all the time. Flow with the current culture. Which means you don’t have to be a dick,as an announcer, to females.”
