Actor Blair Underwood and his wife, Desiree DaCosta, posted a joint statement to social media on Sunday announcing that they are getting divorced after 27 years of marriage.
“It has truly been a beautiful journey,” Underwood wrote.
“We continue to be awed and humbled by the blessing of parenting. We have always put their best interests first and will continue to do so,” he continued.
The couple has said they remain “the best of friends” as they co-parent their children, as well as requested privacy as they go their separate ways.
“We will continue to be the best of friends and co-parents and have the utmost respect for one another as we embark upon this new chapter of our lives, separately. We thank you all for all your support throughout the years & we humbly ask for privacy & understanding during this new season of change. Blair & Desiree Underwood.”
The statement was shared on the “Quantico” actor’s Instagram page.
