Talk show host Marc Lamont Hill nearly died last night. The 42 year old and otherwise healthy man had a mild heart attack, which could have claimed his life, MTO News has learned.
The exact cause of the heart attack was a pulmonary embolism, as a result of deep vein thrombosis – an extremely rare side effect from Marc’s recent Achilles surgery. According to one report, this occurs in less than 1% of the cases, MTO News confirmed.
Marc told his fans, “I am home and recovering after a rough week. After my successful Achilles surgery on Friday, I was rushed to the ER on Saturday after suffering a mild heart attack.”

The talk show host continued, MTO News learned, “Turns out that I had DVT (deep vein thrombosis), which caused a pulmonary embolism. Blood clots nearly completely blocked my lungs, preventing blood flow to my heart. The doctors told me that I was VERY lucky not to have died. “
Luckily Marc seems to be recovering well. He added, “My body is worn out and sore but I couldn’t feel more grateful to be alive and on the path to full recovery. Please listen to your bodies. If something feels off, GO TO THE DOCTOR.”
