A well-known Youtuber, Austin Jones, has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

Jones rose to prominence by covering popular songs on the streaming platform, before he was accused of messaging girls on Facebook Messenger and iMessage, reportedly requesting that they send him twerk videos.

Two girls, aged 14 and 15 years of age sent graphic videos to Jones, which displayed their genitals. He was 24 years of age at the time. Jones could face up to five years in prison.

Jones’ channel is still available on YouTube, but he can no longer make money from his videos and has not been able to since 2017.

"We take safety on YouTube and allegations of sexual misconduct very seriously. When we’re made aware of serious allegations or convictions we take action, which may include terminating business relationships or suspending monetization," a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement.

In a criminal complaint filed against Jones, he told the 14-year-old girl:

"If you're lucky, maybe I'd let you suck my d*ck."

The girl the told him that she didn't want them to get into any trouble, he then told her:

"I guess you really aren't my biggest fan .....ok then."

Jones' lawyer claims that his client was the victim of sexual abuse as a child and has not yet dealt with his own trauma. Jones was fully aware of the girls' ages when he solicited videos from them.
