YNW Melly has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder according to reports.

The rapper was arrested on charges stemming from the double homicide of two of his close friends, 21-year-old YNW Sakchaser (Anthony Williams) and 19-year-old YNW Juvy (Christopher Thomas Jr.) which occurred in October 2018.

YNW Melly (real name Jamell Demons) publicly mourned their deaths at the time before the surprise arrest last month. YNW Bortlen was also arrested for the killings.

According to documents obtained by XXL from the Miramar Police, evidence from the scene of the shooting contradicts Melly and Bortlen's original claim that the men were killed in a drive-by shooting. The pair were reportedly were shot from inside the Jeep Compass they were riding in with Melly and Bortlen.

Melly was the alleged shooter and investigators are also claiming that Melly and Bortlen drove around with the bodies in the car to buy time to come up with a story about the deaths of the two men.

Meanwhile, Melly's 2017 song “Murder on My Mind” jumped to No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart up from its previous position of 59.
