The alleged killer of rapper XXXtentacion is requesting to be let out on bail ahead of his upcoming trial.
Trayvon Newsome, 21, is currently being held in Broward County, Florida, since surrendering to police on August 7th, 2018.
Newsome was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Newsome’s lawyer is demanding that the judge grant his client bond. The other men charged for the murder were Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright and Robert Allen.
It is alleged that the defendants blocked XXXTentacion’s car into the parking lot of a motorcycle dealership. They then exited their vehicle and tried to rob him, but he resisted and was shot to death in his car.
Newsome’s lawyer states, “Defendant is presently being denied bond. Defendant is entitled to bond as a matter or right, unless proof is evidence and the presumption of guilt is great.”
