The tennis world was left in a state of shock after former Wimbledon champion Venus Williams lost out to 15-year-old tennis star Coco Gauff.

Coco went to head with Williams and came out on top with 6-4 6-4 in her first grand slam match and then declared: "I want to be the greatest."

"Obviously I'm super shocked," she told reporters after the shock win. "I literally got my dream draw, so I'm just super happy I was able to pull it out today."

She was also full of praise for her "idol" Venus:

‘I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. And I was just telling her that she is so inspiring. I always wanted to tell her that. And even if I met her before, I guess now I have the guts to,’ Gauff said in a post-match interview.

Venus admitted that she was not at her peak during the match:

"Yeah she played so well… I actually did not play well, so it was a contrast of both sides."

Congrats, Coco!
