At the Golden Globes, comedian George Lopez shocked the audience and viewers when he made a joke in which he volunteered to kill President Donald Trump on behalf of Iran.
It was widely reported that at the funeral service for Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by a US drone, somebody offered $80 million to whoever takes out Trump.
"We'll do it for half," Lopez said on stage.
But after many calls from Conservatives to have Lopez locked up for his tasteless joke, the USSS responded.
"The Secret Service is aware of the Tweet made by Mr. Lopez. The Secret Service takes all threats against the President and or any of our protectees seriously, and as a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence," the USSS spokesperson said.
This likely means that they will be paying him a visit very soon.
Was his joke a step too far?
