Atlanta Housewife Porsha Williams is coming under fire today, and people on Twitter are claiming that reality star "endangered" her baby - all so that the child can have "good hair."

Porsha is going viral this morning - with dozens of her fans calling her "neglectful" for putting her child at risk of death, just to keep a hairstyle.

The Atlanta Housewife posted a pic of her 6 month old infant, sleeping on her stomach. And according to Porsha, she's sleeping that way to avoid "bed head."

Unfortunately, doctors warn that allowing infants to sleep on their stomachs - exponentially increases the chance of the child dying from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Here's the pic of Pilar that is causing all the controversy:

The medical community has been trying to for years to educate American parents on how to properly put their babies to sleep in a safe position.

A 2018 study found that just half of mothers surveyed said they always put their babies to sleep on their backs.

Experts called the findings "frustrating," since back-sleeping has long been promoted as a key way to cut the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

In 1994, the U.S. government launched the "Back to Sleep" campaign to encourage parents to put their babies to sleep lying face-up. That came after research identified tummy-sleeping as a major risk factor for SIDS.

Researchers believe SIDS is related to problems in the brain regions that control breathing and arousal from sleep.
