Travis Scott celebrated his album's return to the No.1 spot on Dec. 2, but then the celebrations were cut short after it was revealed that some of Tekashi 6ix9ine's sales and streams were not counted.
Nielsen powered down to figure out the "processing discrepancy" and reports claimed that Tekashi 6ix9ine’s DUMMY BOY was, in fact, the true No.1 album for that week.
TMZ recently broke the news that Astroworld will remain the No. 1 album for the week in question (Dec. 8).
A spokesperson for Billboard told Pitchfork:
“In a historically close race, after a rigorous review of the process and the methodology by which the No. 1 ranking on last week’s Billboard 200 album chart was awarded to Travis Scott’s Astroworld, we concluded that no correction was warranted.”
Good news for Travis who has just announced tour dates for the second leg of his Astrowrold tour.
