Tina Turner has said that she doesn't know whether she will be able to forgive her ex-husband, Ike Turner for the years of abuse he put her through.

"I don't know if I could ever forgive all that Ike ever did to me," she told The New York Times. "[But] Ike's dead. So we don't have to worry about him."

Her abusive relationship with Ike was memorialized in the biopic, What's Love Got To Do With It, and changed the public's overall perception of the musician. But since leaving Ike behind, Tina has gone from strength to strength.

"I don't necessarily want to be a 'strong' person. I had a terrible life. I just kept going. You just keep going, and you hope that something will come… This [life now] came," she continued.

"I think I'm ashamed," she said of the reason she doesn't speak publicly about the abuse." I feel I told enough."
