Three 6 Mafia group member Crunchy Black’s daughter, Ashley Carter, was shot and killed last week, MTO News has confirmed. Police claim that they have made an arrest related to the senseless killing.
Police arrested Lamont Murry from Memphis and charged him with the double homicide. According to authorities, they received new leads - including witnesses and new video - that showed the murder suspects fleeing the scene in a gold Chevy Tahoe with a distinct rear bumper.
The owner of the Tahoe allegedly told police that Lamont Murry was indeed driving the car on the day of the shooting. Police later arrested Murry, MTO News confirmed.
So why did he kill the rapper's daughter? Well, word on the street is that Lamont told police the shooting was in retaliation of a gang-related killing that happened earlier in August. It's not clear whether Ashley was the intended target or an innocent bystander.
He has now been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence.
Crunchy Black, real name Darnell Carlton, is a rapper and Hype man. He was a longtime member of the Oscar-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia from its founding until 2006.
