According to the UK press, Jay Z and Beyonce's concert tickets are not selling as well as expected. In fact, one of the biggest newspapers in London is calling their tour a "flop."
The UK's Sun newspaper claims that Jay and Bey had to "give away free ticket" to fans, because they didn't want the arena to be EMPTY. According to the paper, "the superstar couple have thousands of unsold tickets for their UK dates, forcing them to cover large sections of seating in the stadium venues."
But there's GOOD NEWS to all this. Fans are getting FREE tickets and FREE ticket upgrades. For example, fans outside their Glasgow concert reported being handed tickets while others said they were offered "upgrades for nothing."
Here's what someone else wrote on Twitter:
Another European publication the Evening Standard reported that:
Thousands of tickets for the UK leg of the couple’s On The Run II have gone unsold so far ahead of the final dates in Manchester tonight and London on Friday. Rows of seats have been covered at venues for the show, which has been hailed as “stunning” by critics, after some tickets failed to sell. Fans near Hampden Park in Glasgow reported free tickets being handed out ahead of the concert there. “If you are near Hampden Park go to the main parking lot they are giving out free tickets for the Beyoncé & Jay Z concert because of empty seats,” tweeted one.
Another said: “Met Beyoncé’s security in work and he’s offered me free tickets for tonight.”
We're sure that Beyonce and Jay Z are hoping that tickets in OTHER countries will sell better than in the UK.
