Texas senator Ted Cruz is being called to resign after he fled the state with his family to Cancun — as millions of Texans, his constituents, were left without power or water following a storm.
He is also accused of lying about his reasons for the trip.
“With school cancelled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon,” he said in the statement.

“My staff and I are in constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas. We want our power back, our water on, and our homes warm. My team and I will continue using all our resources to keep Texans informed and safe.”
But the New York Times obtained text messages sent from his wife to friends and family, claiming that they were flying to Cancun because their house was “freezing” and inviting them to stay with them at a hotel.
Now Texans want him to resign:
Ted Cruz left Texans to freeze to death while he soaked up the sun in Cancun. I have a message for him. Share this video if you think he should resign and tag him to make sure he sees it when he gets off the plane! #CancunCruz #Airborne pic.twitter.com/NAO2T7z5H1

Ted Cruz and his family left their dog in their "FREEZING" home whIle they traveled to Cancun.
He should resign for that alone.
