'Empire' star Terrence Howard posted a message of support to his costar, Jussie Smollett, following him being charged for allegedly staging a hate crime.

Howard shared a video of his son sitting on Smollett's lap and the post was captioned:

"All your lil homies got you. We love the hell outta you,"

"Sorry you feel that way but that's the only Jussie I know," he wrote to a fan who condemned him for supporting Smollett.

"The Jussie I know could never even conceive of something so unconscious and ugly. His innocence or judgment is not for any of us to decide. Stay in your lane and my lane is empathy and love and compassion for someone I've called my son for five years. It's God's job to judge and it's ours to love and hope, especially for those that we claim to have loved."

Smollett was blasted by Chicago police chief, Eddie Johnson who accused the actor of staging the attack because he did not feel that his salary was high enough.

Over the weekend, new reports are claiming that Smollett may not have paid the Nigerian brothers for staging the attack, but the check was for personal training and leaked messages appeared to support these reports.
