The driver of Tekashi 6ix9ine has turned state's witness after being detained by ICE and threatened with deportation.
The "Gummo" rapper's driver, Jorge Rivera, testified Monday that he began helping the feds in May 2018. Rivera is an undocumented immigrant.
According to the New York Daily News, Rivera was behind the wheel with Tekashi in the backseat of a Chevy Tahoe as Anthony "Harv" Ellison, and "Sha" kidnapped him at gunpoint.
"I thought we were going to get killed. And we would be robbed," he reportedly said on the stand. He said he chased the kidnappers in the car until they got out, guns in hand and began running.
Rivera also secretly recorded Tekashi and his former manager Shotti discussing the incident and gave the audio to investigators. Shotti has since been given 15 years in prison.
Rivera pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering, weapons possession and robbery in connection with his cooperation agreement.
"I know I have to pay for my mistakes," he said.
