When Tekashi 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj released their new song Trollz yesterday, everyone expected the song would quickly reach number one. Well, MTO News is hearing that the song may actually end up being a flop.
Unfortunately for the snitch rapper and Nicki Minaj, the Trollz release is not going as well as expected.
The song debuted at #25 on global Spotify and #15 on US Spotify. And it's still stuck at #4 on Apple Music. In comparison, Lil Baby's Black Lives Matter song has already reached #1 with no promo.
To put that in perspective, Tekashi's last song Gooba reached number one on all streaming platforms within hours of its release.
The song is not officially "flopping" yet, but entertainment insiders are worried that the track isn't building up the traction that many expected.
One record industry veteran told MTO News, "Tekashi is known for coming out and breaking the internet with hit songs. The Trollz video is good, mostly because of Nicki. But the song isn't that good."
Trollz is getting a lot of views on Youtube however. It's already at 50 million, but don't read too much into that. Last month Billboard accused Tekashi of using bots to boost his Youtube views.
