A 17 year old boy is being charged with "accidentally" shooting his 15-year-old girlfriend - and the lead up to the shooting was captured on Facebook Live, according to the Harris Country Police.

Police say that Javon Martin, 17, was playing with an assault rifle when he pointed the gun at his girlfriend, identified by her mother as 15 year old Makaila Simon.

Javon pulled the trigger, and Makaila was hit in the chest, and died almost instantly.

Makaila's mother, Nicole Marlborough, told police that a video taken from her Facebook Live shows Javon waving a gun before he shot her daughter.

Marlborough also said the victim was a ninth-grader at Lamar High School.

Marlborough said her daughter just celebrated her 15th birthday Saturday at the Cheesecake Factory.

"I’m pretty sure she would not have been over here, and I’m pretty sure it was not an accident," Marlborough said.

In the video, which MTO News has obtained, you can hear Makaila asking Javon to stop pointing the assault rifle at her. This was recorded minutes before Simon was fatally shot in her chest.

Here is the video:

"They were inside a bedroom. There were other people home at the time, and our condolences go out to the family," Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
