R. Kelly's former protege Sparkle has revealed that she would be willing to testify against R. Kelly if the prosecution calls on her to do so.

“I hope they don’t need me,” she told the NY Times. “But I have to. I have to see this thing through.”

Sparkle was featured in the Lifetime docu-series, 'Surviving R. Kelly' where she detailed the events surrounding her niece. The case was brought to trial in 2008 after back in 2002 he was arrested on child pornography charges stemming from a video that shows a man having sex with and urinating on a teenager. Sparkle viewed the video to identify Kelly and her niece at the time. She was the person who introduced Kelly to her niece.

She also told the Times that she has seen stills of the new video which allegedly features Kelly and a 14-year-old girl and that it is a different tape with the same people involved.

Kelly is currently awaiting trial. Media will be allowed into the courtroom.
