MTO News has learned that one woman was shot dead - after a fight at a High School graduation. The incident happened outside of Atlanta, in local Jonesboro, Georgia.

According to ABC News, "the shooting occurred at about 9:30 p.m. following graduation ceremonies in a parking lot outside Mount Zion High School in Jonesboro, about 20 miles south of Atlanta, Clayton County fire officials told WSB."

It all started when family and Friends gathered for the graduation at the Performance Arts Center - across the street from Mt Zion High School. The graduation was for "alternative high school" students - many of the graduating students have behavioral and/or criminal backgrounds.

Well an altercation spilled out of the graduation - and into the parking lot - and things got REALLY UGLY. A suspect is believed to have pulled out a gun and shot a woman FIVE TIMES at point blank range. That woman died, and another woman - who was pregnant - was also shot.

One woman was shot several times in the chest and later died. Another woman was shot in the leg, according to the station.

MTO News learned that police have several people in custody, but one man fled into the woods and is still on the loose.

The shooting came the same day as 10 people were killed in a school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas. Ten people were also injured in that shooting, which began in an art classroom just after school opened for the morning.
