17-year-old Zanaya Bryant and 18-year-old Anthony Hollingsworth are charged with attempted murder in connection with shooting Zanaya’s ex. The teenage boy was shot outside his high school this week.
Police say Zanaya had been in contact with her ex and convinced him to meet at Oxon Hill High School Monday afternoon.
When the victim got into Zanaya’s car, he saw two other people in the back seat. One of the passengers grabbed the victim and told him to give up his belongings.
As the teen tried to fight the suspect off, he was shot twice in the chest.
“He was set up. He was invited to get into that car by someone he had a previous relationship with,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks.
The victim, a 17-year-old 11th-grade student, was taken to a local hospital and where he was pronounced as being in critical condition before being and several hours later, according to police, his condition "stable."
Fortunately, no other students were harmed during the armed robbery, and although two suspects have been arrested, Prince George’s County Police are still seeking a third suspect in the shooting.
Teenage gun crime is at an all-time high. Just last night, Lexington police arrested a 16-year-old in connection with a double shooting in which one person was killed, and the other remains in critical condition at the hospital. The shooter has been charged with murder, assault, and robbery.
What we want to know is, where are the parents of these gun-wielding teenagers?
