Grammy-award winning dancehall star Shaggy says that he was offered a chance to be on Rihanna's highly anticipated reggae album, but turned it down because her team asked him to audition for the spot.

"They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah. There's a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn't need to audition to be on the record," Shaggy said. "I'll leave that to younger guys."

Despite turning the project down, he still spoke highly of the upcoming offering from the Bajan star. "From what I hear it should be good," he said regarding the highly anticipated LP.

Fans of Rihanna were hoping to receive the album before the end of 2019, but that album did not materialize. It's likely that the reggae album will be released during the first half of 2020, but Rihanna is not giving away too much info.

Y'all looking forward to the new album?
