Scarlett Johansson trended online on Wednesday after she proclaimed her support for disgraced Hollywood director, Woody Allen - saying she "believes him."
Allen was accused by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, of molesting her when she was just a child. She first accused him in 2014 in a New York Times open letter, claims that were later supported by her brother, Ronan Farrow, who says he often saw his father behave strangely with his sister. Allen is currently married to Soon-Yi Previn, who was previously his step-daughter.
“I see Woody whenever I can, and I have had a lot of conversations with him about it. I have been very direct with him, and he’s very direct with me. He maintains his innocence, and I believe him," she told THR.
“It’s hard because it’s a time where people are very fired up, and understandably,” Johansson added. “Things needed to be stirred up, and so people have a lot of passion and a lot of strong feelings and are angry, and rightfully so. It’s an intense time.”
