Savage X Fenty model Carissa Pinkston has apologized after it was revealed that she lied about being transgender.

Her apology comes a week after Facebook comments she wrote back in May were shared across the internet.

"Being Transgender does NOT make you a woman. It makes you simply Transgender," she wrote. Pinkston then received heat online for her anti-trans comments. She revealed that she was dropped from her modeling agency and even "hate mail and death threats."

Rather than apologize and keep it moving, she then decided to come out to the world via her social media:

"I'm being forced to tell the truth. I'm Transgender. I transitioned at a very young age and I've lived my Life as a Female ever since," she wrote in a post a week ago. "What I said about Trans-Women is a direct reflection of my inner insecurities."

But people close to her let it be known that she is not transgender and put her on blast, forcing her to come clean.

Pinkston has also modeled for several high profile fashion brands including, Marc Jacobs, Coach, Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Miu Miu, and Mac Cosmetics.
