Actress Sanaa Lathan cut off all her hair in September 2017 - she wanted to her head completely bald.
Well that was then. Now she's working hard to grow her hair back - and it's working.
Sanna wasn't all that worried a year and a half ago when she did the "big chop", because she knew that her hair grows abnormally fast. And her hair is almost always healthy.
Now just 18 months after she went bald, this is what she looks like now:
Here's Sanaa from this weekend:
Sanaa Lathan has been successful in Hollywood for over 20 years now and she’s not slowing down—or letting any negativity get to her.
In a recent issue, the actress, 47, explained to PEOPLE what she has learned from being in the business that has enabled her thick skin—and how the rise of African American directors plays a role in her two upcoming projects, Native Son and The Twilight Zone.
“One of the best things I’ve learned years ago is that what people think about me is none of my business,” she said. “In the age of social media, whatever somebody says can be believed or not believed, and you have no control over that.”
Sanaa, 47, is a renowned actress. She has starred in many films, including The Best Man (1999) and its 2013 sequel, The Best Man Holiday. Her other film credits include Love & Basketball (2000), Brown Sugar (2002), Alien vs. Predator (2004), The Family That Preys (2008), Contagion (2011), and Now You See Me 2 (2016).
On stage, Lathan was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance on Broadway in A Raisin in the Sun and starred in 2010 in the all-black performance of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Novello Theatre in London.
As a voice actress, from 2009 to 2013, she voiced Donna Tubbs in The Cleveland Show and in all concurrent and subsequent Family Guy appearances.
