An officer accused of wrongfully MURDERING an unarmed Black - just got a $350K bonus check, from the University Of Cincinnati. University Officer Raymond Tensing shot and killed unarmed black motorist Sam DuBose - and court records show that he LIED about it afterwards.
The Ohio police union filed a grievance for University of Cincinnati Officer Raymond Tensing, who was fired following the wrongful killing of Sam DuBose. But because a jury was unable to convict Tensing of murder (there were two mistrials) - the University gave him $244,230 in back pay and benefits and $100,000 for legal fees.
Tensing fatally shot DuBose during a routine traffic stop in July 2015. The officer said he stopped DuBose for a missing front license plate and discovered the motorist was driving with a suspended license.
Tensing then claimed that DuBose tried to drive away during the interaction, saying DuBose dragged him with his car and forced him to open fire. However, body cam footage later revealed that this claim was false and that he actually shot DuBose while the vehicle was still.
Despite the obvious lie, and the fact that DuBose was unarmed a jury refused to convict him.
It has been alleged that the Chief of University Police instructed his officers to target the Black community. Cops were encouraged to pull over Black people and would travel miles away from campus to harass Black people in the surrounding community of the school.
One thing's clear. The justice system is completely backwards!
