Lifetime has ordered a music-themed miniseries which centers around female rap stars Salt-N-Pepa.

According to Variety, viewers will see Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton's career chronicled during their rise in the rap game. The miniseries will incorporate the duo’s hits including “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “What a Man” and “Shoop.”

James, Denton, Jesse Collins, Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere are executive producers. Andy Hume, Dionne Harmon and James “Jimmy” Maynes are co-exec producers.

Lifetime is also working on a biopic on The Clark Sisters.

“Bringing untold stories of phenomenal women to life has been a core tenant of Lifetime,” the EVP of Movies, Limited Series & Original Movie Acquisitions, Lifetime and LMN’s Tanya Lopez said in a statement. 

“We are thrilled to partner with Cheryl, Sandra, Queen Latifah, Mary, Missy and the Clark Sisters for the new projects that will showcase these iconic women in music to new audiences.”

Pepa currently stars in the WEtv show, 'Growing Up Hip-Hop.'
