Rappers Salt-N-Pepa have reportedly terminated DJ Spinderella from performing with the group. And according to a person close to the rap duo, it's because of Spinderella's "bad attitude."
In a message to the fans, Spinderella wrote a lengthy caption, explaining that she had received a letter from the rappers "terminating" her - a cold move.
“I'm deeply saddened to share with all the #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella fans that I will not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour. Despite my participation in promoting the tour and being highly publicized as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘termination’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performances with the group," she wrote in a post on Instagram.
The disheartened DJ continued:
"It was my expectation, after making that decision, that they would also take responsibility for sharing the news with the public and other affected parties. It has been months now with no mention. Out of love for my fans and a commitment to upholding a standard of professionalism, I've taken it upon myself to let everyone know. I refuse to participate in misleading fans, ticketholders, and others who -- based on all the advertising -- were anticipating seeing the iconic #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella trio."
Before she concluded the post:
"So, I'm making it clear now. Please know you will have the opportunity to see me this summer in many other projects and activities I'll be participating in and I look forward to seeing you all then.” Thank you, Spinderella 😘"
Fans might be shocked by the news, but they cannot be surprised. Salt-N-Pepa have been giving Spinderella the shady treatment. Word on the streets for years is that Pepa never liked splitting the money three ways.
But a person close to the group tells MTO News that it's NOT about money, rather it's about Spinderella's attitude. The insider explained, "[Spinderella] is the biggest diva. She thinks she's the group leader and she's just the DJ. She got out of line, and she got cut."
Our heart goes out to Spinderella.
