Robert DeNiro and his wife, socialite Grace Hightower are getting a divorce. According to reports Robert and Grace are are no longer living together.

The couple is expected to publicly announce their breakup in the coming weeks.

The report was originally published by Page Six. They spoke with a friend to the couple who told the mag, “They are not living together at this time.”

Here's what they are reporting:

Social sources have noticed that “Raging Bull” star De Niro has been solo at events he’d usually attend with Hightower over the past months. Said one source, “De Niro and Grace are breaking up. He’s been at a few things since the very end of the summer without her — and rumor has it they are done.”

“Sometimes things don’t work out the way you hope or want them to,” the insider says.

De Niro was at a MoMA film benefit on Monday night to honor Martin Scorsese, along with Leo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Harvey Keitel.

The two were last seen on the red carpet in June when they attended the 72nd Annual Tony Awards in New York City. While De Niro has kept his private life out of the spotlight he did show his softer side while speaking about his family.

“There are great moments and moments of sadness,” he previously told PEOPLE of raising his kids. “Sometimes you’re the last person they want to deal with. It’s like when you walk your kids to school and they get older and they don’t want to hold your hand or kiss you goodbye.”

Robert and Grace got married in 1997 after dating for nearly a decade, and having two kids together. In 1999, just two years into their marriage, the couple divorced and had a very bitter custody battle over their son.

Eventually the two reconciled and they even renewed their wedding vows in 2004.

So don't be surprised if Grace and Robert end up back together again . . .
