Apollo Nida, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and ex-husband of Phaedra Parks, suffered a terrible loss yesterday. MTO News has confirmed that his new wife Sherien Almufti, recently had a miscarriage.
Both Apollo and his new wife were looking forward to starting a family together, but neither knew that Sherien was pregnant before learning of the miscarriage.
Apollo and Sherien are now sharing their story, and hoping to use their misfortune to help others.
In a post on Instagram Sherien told her miscarriage story, and then she urged women to "listen to their bodies" whether they are pregnant or not.
Apparently Sherien had an ectopic pregnancy, which is an extremely high-risk pregnancy. In an ectopic pregnancy, the embryo attaches outside the uterus and typically unable to survive with few exceptions.
Sherien didn't know she was pregnant but felt extreme pain. She was rushed to the hospital and stayed there for two days - when the couple learned she was pregnant and had a miscarriage.
She's now recovering at home.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta ex-husband may have once lived his life in front of the camera, but these days he's spending some time behind it.
Apollo was spotted on set with his fiancée, Sherien Almufti, shooting a campaign for a wig line in the role of director. "MAKING IT HAPPEN!!! HERE WE COME TURBO CHARGE V-16 ACTION. Behind the scenes directing," he said of the gig. "Go Go Go zoom KEEPING GOD FIRST."
And Sherien opened up about working with her boo. "And of course [thank you] bae [Apollo for] always by my side making sure s--t is on point. Thank you, love you to pieces," she wrote, adding, "Life isn’t perfect, but your wig can be!"
As for what else Apollo is up to, his Instagram bio reads: "Reality Production, Fitness Mogul, Public Speaker, Celebrity Ambassador, Philanthropist, [and] Brand Endorser."
We offer the couple our condolences as they deal with this tragedy.
