Rapper Young Greatness, real name Theodore Jones, was killed in a shooting this morning (Oct. 29) in a Waffle House parking lot. The incident happened in New Orleans
Young Greatness was reportedly visiting New Orleans for a funeral and was Facetiming with his manager when the shooting started.
Police are saying that Young Greatness appears to have gotten into an argument with people inside the Waffle House. The argument allegedly spilled outside into the parking lot, where Greatness was shot and killed.
Young Greatness is known for his 2015 song, “Moolah," which made it to the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video was set in New Orleans. Jones was a New Orleans native, who moved to Houston after Hurricane Katrina, according to media reports.
The shooting was reported to police at 1:35 a.m. in the 2900 block of Elysian Fields Avenue, police said.
According to preliminary information from the New Orleans Police Department, the man was fatally shot in the back. NOPD said they believe two people, who have not been identified yet, were involved in the shooting. The two suspects also took the man’s vehicle. Authorities did not release a description of the suspects or the vehicle that was stolen.
