Philadelphia battle rapper Tech 9 was facing multiple sexual assault charges involving a minor, including child pornography before his death.

In court documents obtained by XXL, Tech 9 (real name Akhiym Mickens) was scheduled for a formal arraignment on Mar. 25 and a pre-trial conference on Apr. 16.

He was arrested on Jan. 5, 2019.

His charges included: unlawful sexual contact with a minor, corruption of minors, criminal indecent assault, physical harassment, indecent exposure, criminal use of communication facility, photograph/film/depict on computer sex act—knowingly depicts on computer, photo and child pornography.

Charges of indecent assault - person less than 16 years of age and another indecent assault without consent of other have already been dismissed at a lower court.

The rapper passed away on the same day he was scheduled to be formally arraigned in court. Some speculate that he may have taken his own life because of the case.
