R. Kelly is due in Brooklyn federal court on Friday, and his lawyer has taken to villainizing his accusers in legal documents filed, calling them "disgruntled groupies."

According to documents obtained by TMZ, his attorneys are requesting that s federal judge release the singer before his upcoming trial. 

They deny that he is a risk and state that "groupies sought out Robert's attention, even fought each other for it, voluntarily contacted him, came to his shows, pined to be with him…"

Kelly's lawyer Douglas Anton, claimed his accusers are "five disgruntled groupies, not all of which are alleged to be underage, who now show groupie remorse so many years later and only after a TV Show and an aggressive, vocal Cook County prosecutor makes a public cry for 'victims come forth,' tell your story and be famous."

Almost all of Kelly's accusers were underage girls when they came into contact with Kelly and his allegedly abused them. The docs also blame one of the victims for allegedly catching herpes from the star.
