R. Kelly was absent from a court hearing this week after his attorney informed U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber that the star had a toe infection.
"Judge said he was told R. Kelly was not feeling well. Attorney Steve Greenberg said Kelly had an infection in his toe, and his toenail had to be taken off. "It wouldn't be good if someone stepped on his toe," Greenberg said, explaining his absence," Sun-Times reporter Jon Seidel tweeted from the court.
Kelly is currently facing 18 serious criminal counts in federal indictments in Chicago and Brooklyn. Of those 18 charges, the disgraced star faces 13 counts revolving around child pornography, enticing a minor into illegal sexual activity and a conspiracy to obstruct justice.
Despite the mounting evidence against him, Kelly has always denied all of the allegations against him and claims that he has never been sexually inappropriate with any underage girls.
His trial begins May. 2020.
